The global coalizion Make Medicines Affordable (MMA) had sent a letter to International Monetary Fund (IMF) an the Republic Presidence of Argentina to protest against Mauricio Macri’s drastic austerity measures, which sees the Ministry of Health dissolved and finance to the National AIDS Program slashed.

The MMA is a coalition of organizations working together to make essential HIV medicines more affordable to the people who need them. It is a consortium of partners led by the International Treatment Preparedness Coalition, and including legal experts Initiative for Medicines, Access & Knowledge and four national partners: Fundación Grupo Efecto Positivo, in Argentina; Associação Brasileira Interdisciplinar de AIDS, in Brazil; AIDS Access Foundation in Thailand; and All-Ukrainian Network of People Living with HIV in Ukraine.
